maakana show of anni raajje

I know i'm a bit outdated here, but what happened to MaakanaShow, i just have to say something.
Now it seems, the Chairman of VTV, Mr Gaasim Ibrahim has given his final words to the producers of the Show to remove the Mr. Ali Naseer who is a caricature of Anni. So whats Mr Gasim's excuse here??
Its just not right to mock, make fun of mr. president.
aahaa...see!
That would be the lamest excuse anyone can come up.

But inside reports say that the government has threatened the VTV to remove the caricature or else face the consequences(revoking of the broadcasting license/fining due to violation of the regulations-which only the state minister for information can interpret).

The surprising thing about this issue is that everyone started blaming the president when this happened, and when the president's office issued a press released saying that the president actually do not want the caricature to be removed, in fact he likes it so much that he watches the show in all of his free time.
See this is what our president has to say about this.

We being the hypocrites we really are believed him. Yeah president is not to be blamed! He just can not do anything wrong. can he?
When a prisoner was beaten to death in the jail, we all were acting as if the Gayoom himself beaten up the prisoner to death in the jail. And also when the police dissolves the demonstrations during gayoom's regime, we were acting as if gayoom himself were wearing the StarForce uniform and beating up the MDP activists.
why change of heart when it comes to critising Anni? believe me, we are hypocrites!!!

Government scholarships!

It’s been only weeks ago, when the clown we have as the Education Minister Dr(what not) musthafa luthfy alleged that Maldivian students are not eligible for Government scholarships (oh yeah, he did say that) and even when ministry begs students to apply for scholarships, few but others flush it down the toilet.

Three days ago if i'm not mistaken, the Human Resource Minister(whatever) came up with a kick ass number of scholarships from Some Malaysian Unis, and guess what?? Only three days to apply.

You must be fucking kidding me(and thousands of students all over the country)! right??

Minister! Why don’t you take all those scholarships and shov……sorry carried away.

On presidental address

Maldivian president who for some reason has this firm believe that MDP members are only people worth of being Maldivians and ironically following the footsteps of president of USA gives a radio speech once a week. I being the lazy and unworthy citizen of the country didn’t have the opportunity to hear the speech until this Friday.

I was in a taxi when the dramatic music started playing, and then came our beloved president. I couldn’t believe my ears, for few seconds I thought the radio station was messed up and was broadcasting a MDP gathering instead. The taxi driver confirmed otherwise.

Remembering the part I heard, the self proclaimed champion of democracy, the Mandela of Maldives has publicly mocked, threatened a certain Judge for refusing to issue a search warrant for confiscating some documents for a police investigation.

So here in Maldives when the chief judge of the criminal court turns down a warrant appeal (by the police), the president who hears the news in the morning as he is taking a leak in the bathroom runs all the way to criminal court, in his Pjs, namecalling, mocking and alleging the judge for obstructing "justice".

Welcome to Other Maldives.

MPs, what else do they need?

the supreme court has just announced their verdict on deliberate attempt by the Mps to halt the upcoming parliamentary elections. im delighted with the verdict. now im wondering what other kind of stupid excuses the Mps would use to disregard the verdict by the supreme court, may be they would interpret the verdict in another humorous and mocking way saying that supreme courts verdict do not ask the recess to be revoked, but just to hold the elections on the deadline and thats not possible!!
the panel of the judges in the supreme court were approved by the current interim parliament and appointed by the former president. it would be interesting to see how they 'dodge' the verdict by their own approved appointees in the supreme court. we shall wait and see.
